HIV Prevention Section Units
Disclosure and Community Initiatives Unit
The Disclosure and Community Initiatives Unit administers the development and implementation of the disclosures services of the section. This includes social marketing, training and ongoing support to organizations funded by the section. The unit also oversees the implementation of community initiatives such as the Gay Men’s Community Initiatives and other projects that support health promotion in San Francisco.
Health Education and Planning Unit
The Health Education and Planning Unit helps to coordinate and ensure the effectiveness of HIV prevention in San Francisco. The unit provides these services in a number of ways: support to the HIV Prevention Planning Council, partnering with communities, providing information and education, increasing access to condoms, and providing leadership. The unit also develops and implements the evaluation and technical assistance services for the department as well as monitors public policy.
HIV Counseling, Testing, & Linkages Unit
The HIV Counseling, Testing, and Linkages (CTL) Unit oversees the HIV testing services and programs in the City of San Francisco. Additionally, they also facilitate the communication between the network of providers that offer HIV counseling and testing services throughout the City.
Information Management Unit
The Information Management Unit focuses on processing, storing and reporting data for HIV prevention services planned and delivered in San Francisco.
Provider Relations Unit
The Providers Relations Unit provides technical assistance, helps you obtain resources, and works with you to navigate the City of San Francisco contracting process.
