Here, at San Francisco Health Information Viability (SFHIV), we concentrate on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment strategies used in the United States. The HIV Prevention Planning Council keeps an eye on hospitals, creates Work Groups, holds Council Meetings on the fundamentals of HIV and AIDS, and fights for patients' rights to healthcare.
Unprotected sex could be very dangerous, if we are talking about HIV trasmition. If no protective measures are used and the HIV-positive person does not have an undetectable viral load, this virus could be transferred during a sexual encounter.
And let’s remember that other sexual-transmitted diseases (STD) can also be a large threat. You run a higher risk of contracting HIV if you have an STD. To ensure early detection and timely treatment and stop the spread of STDs, screening is crucial. A good at-home STD test kit may allow you to check your status without going to the doctor's office. But, of course, if it detects something - visit your doctor as fast as possible.
