Know Your Status
When you know your HIV status – and the status your sex and injection partners – you are empowered to protect your health and the health of your community. The San Francisco Department of Public Health recommends that all adults should have at least one HIV test in their lifetime performed by their health care provider. Men who have sex with men, injection drug users, and transfemales should get an HIV test at least every 6 months.
Our partner sites provide free HIV testing. See below for a list of testing sites. Some sites only provide services to specific populations, so be sure to find a location that’s right for you.
Men who have sex with men, injection drug users and transfemales can get tested anywhere.
